I'm wondering about the title of the piece in this video...



update: I just found the program notes, and its an organ chorale ("Wachet auf", BWV 645)

The organist at my church performs this every once and a while. A lovely, stately, regal, and certainly very famous choral from Bach.

Yes they opening theme in Scarlatti's has some similar features, though overall I'd say this is not a huge resemblance.

Maybe more of an instrumental similarity there... and just when I thought I'd heard all of Bach's noteworthy pieces, another arrangement surprised me!

Well there must be a million third-party arrangements of JS Bach pieces that people would wish to regard as Bach's own. Personally I would discount them all and judge solely the originals.

Methinks half of the credit for the appeal of a composer's work should go to the artists who perform/arrange it. I don't really enjoy organ for the most part.

I'd agree, for the most part....but what Webern does with the musical offering is damn cool.
