I personally loved the "RATTLE" POST.

As promised in the listening thread this is Anastasia Khitruk playing Leon de Saint-Lubin's 'Theme original et etude de S Thalberg Op.45(a)' which she has recorded for Naxos...

Another piece for solo violin. The was not bad actually, the mood is quite sad and the writing interesting throughout in this difficult medium.

I enjoy solo violin work. This one was quite sentimental, but I have to say it was interesting listening. I especially liked the fast-paced ending. Thanks, Mel.

I quite liked that. Some virtuostic playing there, light on the vibrato. I'm going to have to investigate further. I see that Naxos is selling the music for dirt cheap (as is par for the course for them).

I can't get enough of this sort of music. The CD has one further solo violin piece and the rest is with piano accompaniment.

I like it. A dramatic rendition, Sonjia!
Somewhat reminding of Karajan's interpretation (with the Berliner too).
Karajan was even more breathless and nervous.
If I'm not wrong Karajan's (double) CD is this one:

Not bad Sonjia, I wonder how this compares to Pinnock's effort with the English Concert (and indeed Karajan's effort with the BPO!). I can wait until Sorin gets to Nr40 in his topic to find out. :D
