(Other people's choices: Alkan Why not?)
Absolutely! I didn't vote for him personally, but I can certainly see why someone would. His music is some of the best piano music I've ever heard, especially that of a grand scale.
Well I did vote for him! Well said Sorin. Of course Alkan didn't leave anything in the way of symphonic music so his appeal is limited to keyboard fetishists like myself (although one does hear rumours of a lost symphony!) But Chopin didn't really leave much either beyond his solo piano works and it hasn't harmed his reputation unduly; but in the piano universe Alkan is very much amongst the true masters.

It speaks volumes that he was able to on a single instrument achieve what other composers using a full orchestra and chorus cannot!

John Cage, William Byrd, Elliot Carter. Who is the undeserving one?
Fine: keep all of these guys, but turf Philip Glass.
For technical reasons only those names I mentioned can be considered. We've had one vote to boot out Bryd and another to boot out Cage. Of course the third option would be to boot out Carter and leave the list as it currently stands. However one thing is certain, no change will be made whilst you are still a lowly Private, you'll need to earn at least one stripe!
