Happy xmas Harry!
Just bough Handel's opera Floridante by Alan Curtis and his band Il Complesso Barocco. This is yet another first recording for a Handel piece (well first recording of Handel's original intended score before casting issues forced a rethink) . I am not particularly a fan of curtis so I waited for the inevitable sale at HMV to buy this (from £35 down to £20). Was pleasantly surprised, sound quality is very good and Curtis has waken up a little with his direction compared to some of his other recent Handel efforts. The singing is variable, but not bad on the whole. I come to expect a fist full of hits in every new work I buy of Handel's and this one doesn't disappoint.

And this one...
What is your average number of purchases per week Harry? You could keep the CM industry alive single handed.
About 5-10 cd's I guess! Would you like me to post what I bought this month?
No the thread is mercifully not to be retrospective, I'm sure you have many more on order! These days, having most of what I need already, I don't buy too many myself, only a few specific things look out for. I'm more interested in other people's buying habits.
