This is the MONSTER SIZED POLL I wanted to do before, but I was TOO SCARED!!

I came to the conclusion that the previous polls were not up to the huge task, but why 127 I hear you ask? Because for some reason 127 is the maximum amout of choices the system allows.

Now we have a poll for everybody, 127 great names from medieval to modern times, a poll for ALL TIME! :D

Please select your TOP TEN composers from this list. ^O^

Surely TMT himself should be the first to go- I'm intrigued to know what your other seven choices will be...

I think you've been drinking Melmoth. Look at the current list, one person has voted already so far. Who else do you think would have voted for Morricone?

Well as I look at the poll now I still don't see any votes so maybe you have to vote to see the votes?

Not at all, looks like you have some kind of block at your end. I suggest you clear your cache and history, cookies too if necessary. The gods work in mysterious ways...

If that fails submit your vote anyway Melmoth, it may 'unlock' whatever it is blocking the results for your view.

I saw all Rod's vote before I cast mine so yea you can see the totals before you actually vote. Even with my votes added in I would think that you could easily figure out Rod's votes from mine.

Keep quiet Kevin, don't give him any clues. Make him work, something against his nature! 8)

That was actually kinda tricky! My choices were (in alphabetical order)...

    Johann Sebastian Bach
    Ludwig can Beethoven
    Franz Berwald
    Johannes Brahms
    Edvard Grieg
    George Frederick Handel
    Franz Joseph Haydn
    Felix Mendelssohn
    Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
    Antonio Vivaldi

Since this is my personal top 10 I felt no reservations about selecting Berwald and Grieg.

By the way, where's Michael Haydn???

That's the advantage of having ten votes, you can pick those you think are the universal greats but also it gives you room to chose those that have a more personal appeal but may not be traditionally seen as belonging to the top ranks.

He's not in the poll.

I notice Alkan is still unvoted for. Can't you make your mind up Mell with all these names? Decisions decisions...

The deed is done. An honourable mention to Sorabji, Scott and Medtner.

You took the words right out of my mouth, Sorin. I too am a Michael Haydn fan. I have his Turkish March in C Major as my cell phone ring tone.

Here are my top ten choices (in alphabetical order):

J. S. Bach
C. P. E. Bach
Ludwig van Beethoven
George F. Handel
Franz Joseph Haydn
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
Franz Schubert
Johann Strauss II
John Philip Sousa
Antonio Vivaldi
